Buying Guide — Portable Power: Choosing the Right Power Station

Portable power stations are ideal for camping, emergencies, and mobile work. Choose based on capacity, continuous output, and charging flexibility.
Capacity (Wh) & Output (W)
Wh tells you how much energy the battery stores; W tells you how much it can deliver at once. For laptops or small appliances 300–600Wh is common; for refrigerators or long-term backup choose 1000Wh+.
Ports & Inverter Type
Check AC outlets (pure sine wave recommended), USB-C PD for fast charging, and DC outputs. Pure sine wave inverters protect sensitive electronics.
Weight & Recharge Options
Higher capacity = heavier. Look for solar charging compatibility, car charging, and fast wall charging if mobility matters.
